Jamaica’s Mojoa Tours shines at Caribbean Travel Marketplace 2019

Phenomenal!  That is the word Delwin Rochester, Logistics Officer for the Caribbean Travel Marketplace (CTM) 2019 event, says aptly described the service provided by Jamaica’s newest Tour and Destination Management Company, Mojoa Tours during the three-day event.

“When we were putting the CHTA conference together, I was tasked with the logistics of moving people in and out.  In previous years one transportation company would have done all the movement, but with the amount of business in the island right now, it was not possible, so I had to go around and ask everybody to pitch in do a little piece so the whole thing could happen,” Rochester told Access Jamaica.

“Some said ‘yes’, some flat out said ‘no’.  I went to Mr. Brown (CEO of Mojoa Tours) and not only did he say yes, but he has also gone above and beyond everything I have asked him to do.

Some of the things I don’t even have to ask him and it was done,” he added.

The CTM which is the region’s largest tourism trade show was staged by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) from January 29 to 31 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre.

The first two days the event was affected by torrential rainfall which spanned several hours, going late into the night, causing a build-up of traffic along Montego Bay’s Golden corridor for several hours, leaving many conference delegates stranded.

But according to Rochester, the Montego Bay-based Mojoa team, with their CEO leading from the front not only stayed the course like a champion, ensuring everyone was brought back to their hotels safe, sound and dry, but also took on the task of escorting key conference personnel who were stranded from the airport, even though this was not required of the company.

“VIPs at the airport stranded; he has delivered.  I hear about it after the fact; it’s just done.    Persons stranded in the airport and don’t know which hotel to go to, his bus takes them to the hotel even though it’s not on his route; we are trying to transport people out of here with the rain, he’s out there in the rain getting wet,” he said.

“He brought his son on board with a car and another bus and brought up extra buses to get the people out of here. I am talking above and beyond, every step of the way to the point now where I am looking at him now like my right-hand man.  I am asking him for advice: “what do we do?” a grateful Rochester added.

He explained further:  “Other parties like Jamaica Tours Limited and Tropical Tours, JUTA, JCAL, Knutsford Express, and all the other companies also stepped up and did a lot.

But about going above and beyond, right here, Mojoa Tours has been awesome and has my highest recommendations.”
